Preparation Day Hike

A few Saturdays ago the Assistants and office Elders came to our house to help us move furniture before the delivery of our new furniture.  But first we took them on a hike in the hills behind the mission home.  Leland took lots of pictures of this activity because he wants to use them in a future mission training presentation.  But I just want to share them with you.

Heading up the hill and so far it is pretty easy.

We reached the first summit and felt pretty good.  Pictured are left to right:  Elder Christensen, Elder Fowkes, Elder Hall, Elder Ramirez, Elder Lopez and Elder Jimenez.  You can see me behind Elder Ramirez.

And then it was time to climb to the top of the next hill.

After that hill I was finished.  Elder Fowkes was good enough to stay behind with me.

Leland ran ahead to take pictures of the missionaries running up the hill.  The missionaries were amazed at how in shape their Presidente is.  They were huffing and puffing when they reached the top and one missionary starting throwing up because he had pushed himself too hard.  You can see me and Elder Fowkes in the background the picture, just sitting and enjoying the views.

Ready, Set, Go!!!

After the hike we had pancakes, french toast and bacon for breakfast.  If you bribe them they will work even harder.  Then it was time to move the furniture out of the house and wait for the delivery men.  Finally the furniture arrived packed and wrapped in wood.  With hammers, screwdrivers and box cutters we were able to unwrap the furniture.  The Elders worked hard and their efforts turned our house into an updated place.
