Elder Bruce in Ushuaia

Dallas had a malfunction with his camera in the MTC so he hasn't taken any pictures since his arrival in Argentina, until now. He bought a camera and finally we can see just what the end of the world looks like.
I don't know why but both of my boys love to wear glasses, without a prescription I'm guessing they think it makes them look smarter. I think Dallas looks cute with or without. Anyway... here is Elder Bruce doing some studying in his apartment. It looks like a nice place and he looks really happy and just like a missionary.

Some of the local food...empanadas. I think these are pretty small if he can eat 12 in one sitting. Up here in Antofagasta the empanadas are big and even I can only eat one. Makes me hungry just thinking about it...

The Argentina delicacy called "churipan" which is their version of a hotdog. Dallas loves sausages so this is his favorite. And it's really cheap, even better.

This is Monte Olivia. It's located near Dallas' home.

On Preparation Day, Elder Bruce's zone took a day trip to the glacier near their town. They had to hike in and Dallas was so excited to see a real glacier. He said when they got to there that it looked like just a snow-covered mountain but it was ice and therefore a glacier. Here he is posing with his companion. Love the Van's sneakers.

A view from the hike. Ushuaia is the town below and Chile is the mountains in the distance.
I think the whole place looks more civilized than I expected the last stop to the south pole to look.

This is the chapel where Elder Bruce attends church. Doesn't it look quaint? The mountain in the background is the glacier where they hiked.

A view of the city. This is a hill that Dallas walks up and down all day.

We can't wait for more pictures from Dallas' mission. But we are happy to see that he is alive and loving his mission.
