Mission Presidents Seminar - Pucon, Chile

At the first of November, Leland and I were able to attend a Mission Presidents Training Seminar. We traveled south to Santiago and then caught another plane south to Pucon, Chile. It was like entering the Garden of Eden because the land around us was so green and full of vegetation and life. What a perfect getaway from our own desert mission. We were reacquainted with our Mission President friends from the MTC as well as being introduced to the other five Mission Presidents and and their wives from Chile.

This is a view from our hotel room of Lake Villarrica. What a glorious view.

It wasn't warm enough to lay out and get some sun, but we did spent some time outside between sessions.

Some of our MTC friends. It felt like a college reunion seeing them again. From left to right: Leland and me, Richard King (his wife Melinda is taking the pic), Neall and Leslie Humphrey, and Jim and Sharol MacArthur.

Leslie Humphrey and I are buddies. We have toooo much fun together.

Three chums.

Three Amigos.

More pics from the hotel.

Jorge and Carmen Zeballos, from the Area Presidency. They are originally from Antofagasta and now live in Santiago. She is just adorable and a great mentor. We love them both.

Four wives from the MTC.
The rookie Presidents - class of 2013.

Bruce's and Humphrey's.

We went on a bus tour around the area and saw the different lakes and the Villarrica volcano. It was fun to be in P-day clothes and play for a day. Here is a my cute husband who endured the bus without getting too carsick. (I didn't do as well.)

The Pucon countryside.

One of the lakes. Too bad I couldn't understand anything the tour guide said because she probably told us the names of the lakes. Pictures are Elder Corbridge and his wife Jackie of the Area Presidency and Susan Lovell from the Osorno Mission.

"The Hills Are Alive"

Villarrica Volcano - there is smoke always coming out of the top of it.

I thought after visiting such a beautiful place that I would dread returning to the desert of Antofagasta. But the opposite occurred: Leland and I were anxious to get back to our mission and our dear missionaries. Seeing such a beautiful place in Chile made us love the entire country more. We actually missed Anto.
