Welcome to our New Beach House!!!

We have begun to move into our new house. It´s located two blocks from the beach, although its just a "to look at" kind of beach not sun bathing. Nevertheless, we can hear the waves at night and it´s probably the only time I´ll live this close to the ocean.

This is the entry of the house. The garage faces the street and the front door is on the side of the house. This is probably as many green plants as I´ll see here in Anto. It´s not the greenest place on earth.

The master bedroom. It´s all freshly painted and carpeted. But I think the drapes and bedding have to go. In due time... But I am impressed with the double closets. There is plenty of storage for clothes.

This is called the "General Authority" room. It definitely needs some decorating and TLC. But the bathroom is large and so is the closet.

Here is our mission car in the carport. I think the color matches my eyes. I´ve never had a blue car before. We are still trying to figure out how to open the gate with remote and not have to get out of the car to do it. By the way, I think we are one of the few people in the neighborhood to have grass.

The living room complete with new couches.

The kitchen is the oldest part of the house. There wasn´t much done to it before our arrival. But all the stuff is being moved in as I write and hopefully I´ll have dishes and cookware by tomorrow.

A view of the entry.

Downstairs is this missionary training room. And there is a small bedroom about the size of a twin bed. Don´t know the lucky person who gets to sleep in this closet.

Here is where the washer and dryer will be when they are moved in. It´s outside on a covered patio. With no rain, it doesn´t matter if they are outside.

Leland in his office with the AP´s working on the transfer coming up next week. They have been in there for two days straight. We already love these Elders.

A bottle of hand cleaner given to us at the MTC exploded in my food duffel bag. I saved everything but some packages of Chili Seasoning and Au Jus seasoning. But everything smells disinfected. The bag has been donated to the trash.

Here are three cake mixes whose boxes were destroyed by the hand cleaner. But I saved the mixes themselves. (I just noticed the toilet paper on the counter. Don´t know why it´s there.)

Went to eat with the AP´s last night. They took us to a place the previous president enjoyed. And we had a huge mound of various meats delivered to the table. I ordered a tomato and avocado salad that was delicious. And I enjoyed the steak. But the Elder´s didn´t enjoy the cow intestines. Elder Skene finished his portion because he wanted to be nice. But Elder Rahde took one bite, then salted the second and didn´t finish the rest. Of course they took the leftovers home to the other Elders in their apartment.

Don´t worry...I´ve found Coke Lite and it´s not bad. I think I like it better than the stuff in Mexico. And I didn´t try the blood sausage either. Elder Skene ate one and it was disgusting. Who needs blood pushed into a casing and called sausage?

This day was great. And today has been better. I think I´m really going to love this mission. I´ve helped a missionary who might need a root canal and another who thinks he has a hernia. Luckily they both speak English so I understand their symptoms. Oh the life of a mission mom...

This is so fun. I think your front room and kitchen look fine. And once you get some new bedding and curtains, it will all be great. What cute APs. I love the picture of dad behind his desk. Is that at the mission office or in the house? Keep the pictures coming!

Just looked at this post again. I have a feeling I'm going to be looking at this a lot. I love the kiddies pictures on the entryway table. And I want to see a picture of the closet/bedroom. Maybe you can stick the misbehaving missionaries in there. Like a "time-out" room. Hehe

YAY! You have the internet! I LOVE LOVE LOVE these pictures. The house is so cute, and we can stick Lucas and/or Shea in the tiny bedroom. I'm sure by the time we make it down to Anto Lucas will be a naughty shamer.
