This is Ashley and I leaving the hospital. I walked out but wasn't allowed to carry Ashley. By the way, the hospital had been officially condemned just a month before I delivered. But...the new hospital wasn't completed so we had to go there anyway. It was literally falling apart from an earlier earthquake that we experienced. I was really glad they discharged me the day after delivery. And the building is still standing, but I don't know what kind of business takes place there. Good ole Hilo, Hawaii.
We celebrated Ashley's birthday at her Grandma Linda's house. She insisted on sitting on my lap to open her presents. Aren't her lips adorable? And could her hair be any straighter. Three months earlier it was still standing straight up. We called her the "Footloose" girl because it resembled Kevin Bacon from the movie. She looks a little overwhelmed by everthing that's going on, but loved her presents. She still loves presents but doesn't have to sit on my lap to open them.
For Ashley's second birthday we ventured out to Chuckie Cheese's. She was more interested in the games than her cake. But I remember her insisting on sitting on top of the table to open presents and eat cake. And I remember feeling really tired because I was barely pregnant with Jillian. How many of you open your mouths when your kids are eating? I find myself still doing it with Ava.

Ohhhh how cute...now little Ashy is all grown up !!!! I feel like I know Ashley a little bit better now. Maybe she'll eat her cake this year sitting on the table too!
