Viejas Training

Today we had some specialized training with the next two groups of missionaries scheduled to return home. And all of them were Hermanas!!! We will have two sad days when these sisters leave us. The purpose of this meeting was to help motivate them to continue working hard until the end of the mission. The word "trunky" has been eliminated from our mission vocabulary and we never talk about it. Leland did the bulk of the teaching but I instructed them on the "finishing touches" of their mission. What will be their finishing touch?

After the training we all enjoyed lunch and photos.

Here is the girls' table. Pictured from my left are Hermanas Coppins, Montanden, Portillo, Ñique, Olivares, Travez, Young, Garcia and Ramirez.

And here is the boys' table. Elder Duerden sat with Presidente Bruce and Elder Detrinidad is acting as photographer.

The missionaries always take opportunities for pictures. Here are all the wonderful Hermanas in attendance today. Look...I'm in the back row because I'm actually considered tallish here.

Leland joined in with the pictures too. He is always in the back. We don't get enough photos of him.

Posing with Hermana Travez. I think she is about as tall as Ava Bava.

Posing with Hermana Ñique. I keep having to change my keyboard to español to type her name.

Hermana Montanden from North Las Vegas is our tallest hermana. Today she wore flats, but usually she is wearing 3 inch pumps when we have meetings. Yeah for embracing your height¡¡

And here is Leland posing with our petite group.

After lunch and photos they all headed back to the bus station for their transportation to their sectors. A few had arrived this morning after 12 hours overnight on a bus and will do the same thing tonight to get back home. They are all champions to travel so much just to have lunch with us. But we are sure glad they are so willing.
