I decided to bake her a birthday cheesecake. A block of cream cheese costs $5.00 here and the recipe took four blocks. I was careful with the preparation but in true Chilean style, the new springform pan leaked and burned all over the oven. The cheesecake looked perfect and I'm hoping it doesn't taste like smoke.
Today Nery arrived, smelled the kitchen, and started scrubbing the oven. She cleaned the oven which baked her birthday cheesecake. I'm not sure any of that is fair. Nevertheless she seemed genuinely excited to receive both her gift and the cheesecake. We decided to give her a gift certificate for a pedicure and I'm not sure she has ever had one. And tomorrow she has the day off for her birthday.
We couldn't survive without Nery. She keeps our home life organized, clean and prepared for us. We love her. Nery is a tender mercy from the Lord.

Happy Birthday Nery! What are you going to do when you come home and have to do laundry and iron again?!? Hehe
Can't wait to hear how the cheesecake turns out. Let's talk tonight. It's been too long. And by too long I mean at least 3 or 4 days. :)
