The Cueca

The National Dance of Chile is called the Chueca. EVERYONE dances the Chueca. On the day of the Bicentenario you could see costumed dancers everywhere in the city. And at the Stadium they had a Chueca dance contest. We only saw a small part of the contest and the finals were held on Sunday but we watched the adult finalists and I got a few pictures. It isn't SYTYCD or DWTS but it is what we've got here. And sorry for the dark photos; I never said I was a good photographer.

See the dirt they are dancing on? That isn't necessarily part of the dance. It's just what we have here in Antofagasta. I think this is a soccer field they are dancing on. It is probably the finest dirt they have here in the city.
