The Hottest Place On Earth

Yesterday Ashley and I decided to take Ava to Disneyland for a few hours. We planned on 10-1 and we definitely stuck to the plan. I should have known it was going to be crowded when I waited over 20 minutes outside the park with 20 school buses trying to get into the parking structure. Fortunately we bypassed much of the parking traffic my parking at Downtown Disney and took advantage of their free 3 hours of parking. After waiting 20 minutes for the Monorail in Downtown Disney we decided to walk into the park and ride the train only to have to wait 10 minutes for the train. Now we're all sweating and we haven't done anything yet. Is this called fun?



We finally board the train with the intent on riding completely around the park and then circling around halfway again and getting off in Fantasyland. Ava loves the dinosaurs on the train. BUT...we get stopped in Fantasyland on our first go-round and sit for 15 minutes. Then we're told the train is having mechanical difficulties and could be delayed another 15 minutes so we get off. Now are we having fun?



Ashley is feeling desperately pregnant and decides it's the carousel and then home. Ava insisted that I ride on a horse. At least I felt a breeze as we circled around and around.




Last stop, catching the monorail back to Downtown Disney and then straight to air-conditioned McDonalds for lunch.



Let's just say I'm not going back to Disneyland until September. So if any family comes to town this summer, you're on your own. I love spending time with Ashley and Ava but I'm suggesting a cool mall or a breezy beach next time.
