Mother's Day

I had an extra special Mother's Day. Last year both my girls were away and I spent the day with Leland and the boys. But this year I spent an hour with all my kids while we all talked to Trevor, who is on his mission in Argentina. Leland set up a conference call that we all called into and then we were able to talk together. Jillian was here in San Juan for the weekend and Ashley and Christian called from Huntington Beach. It was so fun to talk to Trevor and hear all about with his mission life. We just fired question after question at him and kept him talking the entire hour. I was amazed at how he sounded the same with a bit of an accent thrown in here and there.

I am so lucky to have four children who I adore. I loved spending the weekend with three of them and I appreciate all the wonderful gifts I received. In fact, after all the celebrations were over, the doorbell rang and when I answered the door I found Trevor standing at the door. Actually it is a life-size cut out of Trevor that Leland had made for me for Mother's Day. I'm grateful to the Lark's for helping Leland get it made. I'm tempted to carry him around with me but I'm afraid Walter will have a nervous breakdown if Trevor is everywhere in the house. He is scared to death of the Trevor cut-out.

So thanks family. I love you all and you are precious to me. And Leland, thanks for making me a mom. It's the best job I've ever had.

Here is Trevor standing in the the kitchen.  Doesn't he look real?  This picture was taken just before we entered the MTC so he doesn't have his name badge yet.  I've hugged him twice and I'm feeling a little like Lars and the Real Girl.  That's weird!!!

i was cracking up when i read the part about he life-size cut out. my brother lives in maui and about 2 yrs ago he made a life size cut out of himself. 'flat todd' as we call him has been passed all over the world to go friends weddings, etc. he made it to our home last christmas. i wrapped him up and put him under the tree. on christmas morning my parents and cousins were so excited. we even took him to the neighbors houses for pics, hahahaha. everywhere 'flat tood' has been is written on the back of him. great gift!
