Pantry Project

Five years ago we built out our "bar" area into a pantry. It was so organized and neat. And then we started living with it. And then I stopped cooking every night. And then I forgot what was on my shelves but kept shopping at the grocery store. And then today I decided I needed to clean out said pantry because the shelves were full of food and we had nothing to eat. Luckily Ashley was visiting and she loves to organize. So we started reading expiration dates and dumping food.  It feels so good to be straightened up.  Next up...the laundry room.

Here is one set of shelves. Look, there's empty space on the shelves.

And here is my contribution to the county dump tomorrow morning. Advice for the day ~~ be sure to check expiration dates regularly or else you'll have too much food and no where to store it.

Thanks Ash for your help. I feel so organized.  As payment for her organizing services, Ashley went home with 3 bags of groceries.  Don't worry, none of her food was out of date.

I spent the weekend organizing too! There's nothing like listening to conference while cleaning out drawers and closets. Aaahhh...Spring Cleaning feels good!

The best part about this story is after looking at her newly organized shelves, mom said, "Man, I need to go shopping!"

hey tracy. I've been here before via summer's blog. Glenda was just talking today about your clean pantry, so I had to stop in for a peek.

Honestly, if we can't even keep the food in our own pantry's rotated, how are we supposed to manage a year's supply? It is mind boggling to me.

good work, and I hope you don't mind me taking a peek.
